In plain words
- Use Walk-In Waitlist only to run a real walk-in line for a lawful business.
- Only text people who joined your line and agreed to texts, and only about their visit.
- No spam, no harassment, no reselling, no attacks on the service.
- Carriers and our texting provider require these rules. Breaking them can get a shop suspended.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to every shop and every member of its team, and to anyone else who uses Walk-In Waitlist. It is part of the Terms of Service. Our texting provider and the US carriers require us to have and enforce it.
Text messages
You must not:
- add a mobile number to the line without the person's permission to text them about the visit;
- add numbers from a list, a previous business, a purchase or anywhere other than the person in front of you or the join page;
- use the line to send, or try to send, marketing, promotions, surveys or anything other than the visit texts the service sends;
- add someone again after they asked you to stop texting them;
- use a fake name or someone else's business details in the texting registration;
- try to get around the per-visit limit, the quiet hours or STOP.
Lawful business only
You must not use the service for a business, service or content that is illegal where you operate or where your customers are, or that carriers prohibit for business texting, including:
- illegal drugs, or cannabis and tobacco or vaping products where texting about them is restricted;
- gambling, sweepstakes or high-risk financial offers such as payday loans or debt relief;
- adult or sexual content;
- weapons, hate, violence or harassment;
- fraud, phishing, deceptive offers or impersonation of another business.
People in the line
You must not:
- harass, threaten or discriminate against customers through the service;
- use customers' names or numbers for anything other than serving them at your shop;
- share customers' information with others, except as the law requires.
The service itself
You must not:
- resell, rent, sublicense or give access to the service to another business, or run several businesses under one shop;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service, or get around its limits, without our written permission;
- send automated or fake joins, or overload the service;
- copy, reverse engineer or scrape the service;
- upload logos or content that infringes someone else's rights or contains malware.
If you find a security problem, tell us at our support email (coming soon) and give us time to fix it before telling anyone else. We will not take action against good-faith research that follows this rule.
What we do if this policy is broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may warn the shop, stop texting for it, suspend it or close it, as the Terms of Service explain. We also act when our texting provider or a carrier asks us to. When the law requires it, we report illegal activity.
Reporting a problem
If you receive texts you did not ask for, reply STOP, and tell us at our support email (coming soon) with the shop name if you can.
